Indication
When 0.5g of Ampicillin is administrated by i.v. infusion, its plasma concentration wound go to 45ug/ml within 5 minutes. Peak plasma concentration of approximately 12ug/ml are detectable whin 0.5-1 hour after the i.m. of 0.5g of ampicillin. Administration of cloxacillin 0.5g by i.m,the peak plasma concentration of 18 ug/ml can be detected within 0.5 hours. The two drugs are widely distribute throughout the body, effective concentration of two drugs are present in major organs of body higher levels can be detected in bile, but they do not readily enter the cerebrospinal fluid when the meninges are norma, when the menings are acutely inflamed, effective concentration can be detected in the spinal fluid.
Administration and Dosage
Typhoid fever,gonorrhea, and serious infection caused by pathogen which have not been definited, such as infection of repiratory tract, digestive canal, biliary tract, nrinary tract etc.
Serious mixed infection caused by penicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, such as pneumonia, meningitis, suppurative arthritis, live abscess, otitis,infection of digestive canal, nrinary tract and biliary tract.
Serious septemina, endocarditis, medullitis, pleuritis, pulmonary abscess and second infection bronchiectasis and pulmonary tuberculosis caused by pathogen which have not been definited.
To prevent infection after operation and extensive burn.
To prevent infection of newborn.
I.m. 0.5-1.0g/one time, 3-4 times/per day, dissolved in 2-4ml sterile water, it ought to be injected in muscle deeply to relief pain. Iv.0.5-1.0g/one time. 2-4 times/per day, dissolved in 10 ml sterile water and inject in vein slowly at minute, intravenous drip; this durg is compatibly with any transfusion, but when it is competed with transfusion which include glucose, intravenous drip would be dripped rapidly within 0.5 hour so as not to reduce drug effect. Extenuation is necessary in infant and children.
Caution
Before using the drug, skin test as penicillin is necessary. All ergic reaction as anaphylactic shock requires immediate countermeasures such as intravenous epinephrine followed by glucocorticold.
