Applicable symptoms
The mode of action of this product is through the competitive binding of effective estrogen receptor sites in the hypothalamus. Estrogen is displaced from these sites, at which point the hypothalamus perceives a marked lack of circulating estrogen. This causes gonadotropin-releasing hormone to stimulate the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which trigger the normal menstrual cycle.
This product is suitable for inducing ovulation in women with hypothalamic and pituitary dysfunction including polycystic ovary syndrome, and inducing multiple follicular development in women undergoing superovulation through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
When engaging in infertility treatment, medication should be prescribed by clinicians.
Other effects
Off-label indications: improve sperm density, treat oligospermia 20-50mg/d
