1、 What is Helicobacter pylori?

Helicobacter pylori (HP) is a kind of bacteria parasitized in human stomach, which belongs to class 1 carcinogen.

*Class 1 carcinogen: it refers to the carcinogen with carcinogenic effect on human.

2、What symptom after infection?

Most people infected with H. pylori are asymptomatic and difficult to detect. A small number of people appear:

Symptoms: bad breath, stomachache, flatulence, acid regurgitation, burping.

Cause disease: chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, serious person can cause gastric cancer

3、 How did it get infected?

Helicobacter pylori can be transmitted in two ways:

1. Fecal oral transmission

2. The risk of gastric cancer in patients with oral to oral transmission of Helicobacter pylori is 2-6 times higher than in the general population.

4、 How to find out?

There are two ways to check Helicobacter pylori: C13, C14 breath test or gastroscopy.

To check whether HP is infected, it can be put into the Department of Gastroenterology or the special clinic for HP.

5、 How to treat?

Helicobacter pylori is very resistant to drugs, and it is difficult to eradicate it with single drug, so it needs to be used in combination with multiple drugs.

● triple therapy: proton pump inhibitor / colloidal bismuth + two antibiotics.

● quadruple therapy: proton pump inhibitor + colloidal bismuth + two kinds of antibiotics.
